You may have a few questions about how this all works and how to get started with accessory and bag manufacturing in China. Here’s collection of the most common questions we get.

I'm having complications with my current accessory or apparel production in China, can you help?

Yes, absolutely we can help you. The first thing you can to do is either contact us or send us an inquiry. We have an established network of suppliers and years of experience managing apparel production in China, so we would love to find out how we can help you.

How do I get started? What are the first steps?

If you’re ready to partner with us to get your accessories or apparel made in China, the first thing you need to do is send us an inquiry. In order for you to get the most accurate numbers and estimates, you should have a physical sample to send us, along with your tech pack. We could also use estimates you have in mind for timeline, order quantities, and more. Please see our quote page and form for more information.

What do I need to send you for my tech pack?
Aside from a physical sample, we need a detailed tech pack — this means either a highly detailed and technical drawing with measurements (you can submit a Adobe Illustrator file or PDF), which needs to be at least 300 dpi.
Do I need to have supplier relationships already in place to get our accessories & apparel manufactured in China?
No. We already have an established network of trusted suppliers that we’ve used for years. We handle the communication and maintain a good relationship with our manufacturers on the ground. We regularly meet with them and spend time in their factories - this way, we can get you favorable negotiation and make sure your project is on time.
Should we get a translator for any communication and documents?
You don’t have to — we take care of that. Our team members are bilingual (fluent in English and Mandarin) and we do any translation of documents for you. Our clients love that they don’t have to worry about this and our suppliers appreciate not having to do any translation, too! Most importantly: communication is crucial for your clothing to be made right, so we make sure details and information does not get lost in translation.
How can we know that our accessories & apparel are up to par with our brand and standards?

From the very beginning of the process, we create a highly detailed Spec Sheet that contains all the information, standards, and details related to your products. This sheet gets updated, revised, double-checked, and communicated to all parties (clients and suppliers) throughout the entire manufacturing process.

 

We also have a Quality Assurance checklist and protocols for your accessories or apparel at every phase and stage of the process. Everything is checked against our Spec Sheet, as well as additional checks that we do on location. We prevent errors from escalating and timelines to get delayed by having these quality checks and processes in place.

How is our project handled if we don't have to be on location?

Your project is handled by the HC Accessories team, on the ground in China. We communicate with you through regular weekly updates and keep track of important deadlines and timelines for prototyping, SMS orders, and bulk production. We offer a full-service project management, where everything is taken care of for you — we just need your approvals and inputs in a timely fashion to keep the project moving.

 

Everything else — from dealing with suppliers, procuring textiles, materials, fabrics, making sure the prototypes are made right, the SMS orders for trade shows are delivered on time, the final stage of bulk production runs smoothly, and more - is all handled by us.

Our accessories and apparel are highly detailed and brand oriented - can we work with you?

Yes! We specialize in small- to medium-sized clothing and apparel fashion brands (mainly in the US, Europe, and Australia) that have a need for high attention to detail and customization. Besides the usual requirements of fabric criteria, colors, cuts, and size ranges, we also make sure your requests for seams, stitching, printing, washes, packaging, label placement and much more is taken care of.

 

All of these details and needs are clearly communicated to our suppliers and we double-verify everything with them and you. Our mission is to make sure your brand and product vision is reflected in the clothing and apparel that’s made.
